Epic Games has activated its own Twitch channel to stream Overwatch’s official launch, as the publisher looks to promote the title’s worldwide launch.
The Twitch channel, called Epic Games, will be launched on the 30th April at 9am AEDT and will be live for 24 hours, beginning at 1pm AEDD, with live streams of gameplay and announcements available from 4pm AEST.
The channel will be accessible to all players worldwide, but players can opt out at any time.
The stream will be free to play, with no subscription fees and all content will be hosted on the Epic Games website.
“We are extremely excited to launch the channel to our fans, and we are working hard to create an engaging experience for our community of players,” said Epic Games co-founder and CEO Patrick Klepek.
“The stream is a great way for us to build on the incredible community we have created for Overwatch, and to help fans tune in and stay tuned for more exciting content to come.”
Klepek said the channel will also host an online store for merchandise, with additional content coming in the future.
“As Overwatch expands into more territories around the world, it’s a good time for Epic to partner with Twitch and other platforms to offer fans exclusive access to the Overwatch team and the players we work with every day,” he said.
